Tennessee Young Dems to define morality
Fri Nov 26, 2004 at 08:55:38 AM PDT
I thought this was an interesting e-mail. Maybe our youth here in the South can lead the way in defining what real moral issues are. I do know that the instructors at this college gave thier students extra class credits if they voted Nov. 2nd and brought their "I VOTED" sticker back to class. Good motivation.
Anyone Know what happened with Lawrence ODonnell/Swift Boaters
Tue Oct 26, 2004 at 07:35:42 AM PDT
segment on Scarborough Firday night.
I didn't see it.
Last night on Scarborough, Pat Buchannon offered an apology to the audience for the Lawrence O'Donnell's performance against swift boater John O'Neill and said it would not happen again.
Why the hell do they still have John O'Niell on any programs? His lies had been debunked. I heard MSNBC was bombarded with letters from freepers calling for a boycott against them.
Another Major News Conference By Bush
Sun Oct 17, 2004 at 01:18:21 PM PDT
Just heard on Fox news that President Bush is planing a major news conference tomorrow on the war on terroism. HMMMMMMMMMMMM . Didn't he do this about 2 weeks ago and all the stations broke to the speech only to find out it was just his stump speech but no new news.
I suppose he has to come out tommorrow to respond to the new Kerry ads this weekend and needs the media to cover it. This just gives the media whores an excuse to give him uninterupted air time.
This election is affecting my mental health. This morning at church I found myself praying to God to deliver us from this man.
WHOA people listen to yourselves
Fri Oct 15, 2004 at 09:45:42 AM PDT
Last night there was a diary posted "THIS ELECTION IS EATING MY BRAIN". Most of us agreed we needed a 12 step program for our addiction to DAILY KOS and our daily obsession with this election.
We check the diaries hourly to see if there is a new glimmer of hope or supportive rantings. We come here for our fix. Like an opium den, we want to feel better.
This is our support group.
If i want depressing news i can turn on the TV. Some of you are beginning to sound like those pundits. Emphasing every negative thing that is being spun.
The polls have been up, the polls have been down...so what. There is absolutely no logic for Bush to be up in the polls.
Today there has been a barrage of negative diaries and hand wringing. Do you realize what this does to mine and others brains?
If you are obsessing and dissectig the polls, then that means you are not out working. That is how we will win this election. We all know this race is about GOTV. Being negative at the last minutes of this race will get us nowhere.
We need some enthusiam in our words. Rally the forces and get to work.
Reply from Land's End
Tue Oct 05, 2004 at 02:59:29 PM PDT
After reading the diary about Land's End inviting Rudy Guiliani to speak to their employees in WISCONSIN, where Rudy was praising GWB as being a hero on 9/11 and bashing Kerry. I sent them a protest letter.I told them I had been a customer for 20 years but I would no longer buy their products and to remove my name from their mailing list. I thought that Guiliani's visit was politically motivated because WI was a swing state.
I got a response from them saying their timing was bad but they basically had no regrets in inviting him and wanted to know what my address was so they could delete me.
They didn't seem very concerned about losing a valued customer so i figured that they had not recieved enough pressure to their actions and to invite a leading democrat to speak.
Anyone who orders from Land's End needs to send them an email reminding them they sould not play politics if they want to keep their customers.
Forget about those nice turtlenecks(I love them TOO) and send them a protest email. landsend.com

Tired of all the negative rhetoric
Sun Sep 19, 2004 at 02:41:25 PM PDT
It seems like every day one or two people just have to post a diary that is pessimistic drivel.
I try to stay away from those types of posts. They tend to bring me down.
You talk about what a poor campaign Kerry has run, but you know what, I can't say that Bush has run a great campaign. Don't you understand that Bush has nothing to run on but fear and deception. He has offered nothing to make people really eager to go out and vote for him.
He has done a lot to make people want to vote against him.
If you want to go negative....go negative on him but please spare the rest of us, who have been working our asses off, your bleak and cynical comments.
I want John Kerry to win. I don't care right now what happens in 2008. I want him to win in 2004.
We will not win with all the whining. As John Kennedy said, "If you are not part of the solution you must be part of the problem".
The posts that inspire me most are the ones from GOTVoters who came back with postive words of hope for all of us. I want to thank all of you who give up days off and weekends to travel somewhere or even canvass your apartment complex. We all owe you a debt of graditude. Thanks from the bottom of this democrats heart.
